چکیده
Water scarcity is a pervasive threat to society that expected intensify alongside growing and more affluent population changing climate. In this paper, we review the existing literature assess potential of lessening water by reducing food loss waste. Existing studies reveal scope waste its accompanying impact on resources, thereby providing foundation for policy action. We highlight or proposed reduction measures available evidence concerning their resources. Our reveals there deficit research can guide specific interventions aimed at mitigating Instead, last decade has primarily focused quantifying current footprint different locations, points within supply chain, groups. Yet, degree uncertainty inherent in these estimates, lack precision, several simplifying assumptions make it difficult translate into robust reduce environmental burden conclude advancing agenda will (i) quantify through enhanced data collection methods; (ii) holistically measures, including system level impacts feedback; (iii) develop methods technologies transparent chain tracing. Together, advances areas ground toward scarcity.

Reducing Food Loss And Waste While Improving The Public's Health.
An estimated 30 percent of the global food supply is lost or wasted, as is about 40 percent of the US food supply. There are valuable synergies between efforts to reduce food loss and waste and those promoting public health. To demonstrate the potential impact of building upon these synergies, we present an analysis of policies and interventions addressing food loss and waste, food security, fo...
متن کاملConsumers’ Perspective on Circular Economy Strategy for Reducing Food Waste
The current linear system of production and consumption is unsustainable. In the food sector, despite the fact that valuable natural resources are intensively used to produce and distribute food products, little is done to upcycle residues generated along the supply chain. Circular economy strategies are crucial for restructuring the take-make-dispose model through the active participation of a...

Medical waste is a necessary by-product of any hospital environment; however, the majority of regulated medical waste is produced in the OR from the use of disposable surgical supplies (eg, drapes, gowns, basins, gloves, sponges). We conducted a concept comparison project in the ORs of two large medical centers in Bethesda, Maryland, and Washington, DC, to evaluate the effects of using reusable...
